Our Beginnings

CareAssist is a personalised care concierge service, powered by a 24/7 call centre and chat platform, that caters to the regular needs of caregivers, both full-time or part-time/informal caregivers. CareAssist started its journey from SG Assist, a social initiative which developed a mobile app that provides real-time, proximity-based matching of community volunteers with requestors who need assistance.

 

Through the requests received from the SG Assist App, we discovered that caregivers are among those who need the most help, either in seeking out information or advice, or a helping hand to relieve them from their caregiving obligations.

 

CareAssist is designed with the caregivers in mind, to assist them in a multitude of ways, to make their caregiving journey easier.

Our Impact

Especially in these recent times of COVID-19, where face-to-face physical interactions have reduced, there is a growing need for and transition to online interactions, tele-consultation and remote assistance.

 

Our SG Assist App has seen increased downloads and usage by community volunteers and those needing assistance during the pandemic. To date, there are more than 4,297 registered volunteers and 1,042 volunteer requests that have been fulfilled.

 

Singapore's current endemic journey has set a solid precursor for CareAssist, which has partook in the tele-consultaton/counselling efforts under the remit of the Ministry of Health (MOH) to assist Singapore residents placed under the COVID-19 Isolation Order (IO), Home Recovery Programme (HRP) or Health Risk Warning (HRW).
